2019 = BUIDL ON EOS
We don’t HODL we BUIDL
Anyone active within the EOS community knows that there’s an air of excitement for what 2019 has in store for us.
While the rest of the crypto community seems to be hiding in caves, the EOS community is out and about hard at work building the future. There’s so much going on, so much excitement in the air it’s intoxicating and impossible not to be optimistic at the thought of what this year might bring.
For the first time we have real, usable, revenue producing dapps.
EOS is turning the promises Ethereum once made into reality
Oh but those are just gambling dapps… EOS is just a chain for gambling dapps…
Sense, Everipedia, Chintai, pixEOS, Patreos, Murmur, Lumeos, Emanate, Parsl, Geneos and the list goes on and on and on. But these are the projects that have sparked my interest of late.
Sense chat is currently running on the EOS main net after migrating from Ethereum. hmm I wonder why?… In the words of Crystal Rose (CEO of Sense) “because Ethereum made no sense, it doesn’t scale and has transaction fees.”
Sense is a fully decentralised messaging dapp which already has true peer to peer video chat. The dapp also allows you to exchange digital assets and once group chat is released it will be time to say goodbye to Telegram. (hopefully they won’t ban me for posting my EOS articles!)

I take it you’ve heard of Wikipedia… Well Everipedia is Wikipedia on blockchain which comes with all the added benefits you get with a blockchain, censorship resistance, collaborative editing and aligned incentives for users. Plus! they’re extending beyond being just a Wikipedia successor with a prediction market, oracle service, on-chain facts dapp and a Quora alternative all on the way.

Chintai is a token leasing platform currently running on the EOS main net. One of the core promises of the EOSIO software was to enable the ability to lease out the resources your EOS token entitles you to. EOS42 (EOS block producer) took it upon themselves to make this a reality with the help of some fellow BP’s. Chintai is one of the reasons EOS has been able to scale so quickly by allowing resource heavy dapps like DICE to rent out CPU at a fraction of the cost of purchasing/owning the tokens.
And as if that wasn’t enough they are set to release Chintai 2.0 which will take the platform to another level, or maybe another solar system! It includes a CHEX token which will have multiple uses but first and foremost you’ll be able to stake and earn dividends from it, an OTC market, REX interface, RAM trading, compounding interest function, cross chain capabilities just to name a few. You can read more about Chintai 2.0 here.

Now this is the project I’m most excited for, PixEOS is a gamification platform with it’s first dapp (Pixeos Paint) scheduled to launch at the end of this month.
But PixEOS is so much more than just a pixel game, there planning to introduce NFTs (non fungible tokens) which can then be attached to artwork to certify ownership, staking and dividend model to return passive income to token holders, digital design services plus many more dapps and initiatives of which I can’t list here!
Another thing I must mention is the community engagement and excitement they have generated through their open/welcoming attitude. They have great communication and are constantly running contests and rewarding users to keep the community engaged. They have grown one of the strongest community followings I’ve seen in a crypto project in just under 2 months, take a look at their telegram channel and you’ll see what I mean! I’m personally proud to be a part their community and as Fred says.. there is no bear market here! For more information Stellabelle wrote a great article here.

The timing could not be better for Patreos. With Jordan Peterson, Sam Harris and Dave Rubin all turning their back on Patreon the door is well and truely open for a blockchain alternative to fill the niche.
Patreos will run on the EOS blockchain, have no fee’s and will be impossible to censor. Sounds good to me… Maybe I’ll be able to raise some money so I can focus all my creative energy/time writing articles like these and growing theEOSwriter! That would be a dream come true.

Murmur is a decentralised version of Twitter currently running on the EOS blockchain which has just released the iOS version. I think as society begins to realise the problems with centralised social media platforms there will be a rush towards their decentralised counterparts and Murmur is well placed to onboard those users.

Who likes answering polls? Well now you can earn money from doing just that!
Who wants to take control of their own data and have the option to monetise it? Why should Facebook take all the profits your personal data generates? The answer is they shouldn’t and thankfully won’t be for too much longer with dapps like Lumeos about to put the power back in the hands of the people.
Lumeos has a great use case as well as a stunning team behind them and it shows. Their UI/UX is second to none, the kind of user experience which is necessary to onboard members of the general public. You literally do not realise you’re even using a blockchain when you download and start using Lumeos. 2019 will be the year nanna gets on the blockchain and Luneos is heading the charge in this respect.

If there was ever a type of content creator who seems to have been historically hard done by it’s musicians! Emanate is planning to change this while also adding new ways for musicians to collaborate.
By using real time payments artists can be paid directly over the EOS blockchain, no 3rd party greasy music exec’s to gobble up all the artists hard earned profits!
They also caught the eye of Block.one and were featured by them at Blockchain Live in London - Here’s a great short video of the Emanate platform in action on the EOS blockchain! What was that again about only gambling dapps?

The cannabis industry is already a multi-billion dollar industry and it’s about to boom as legislative laws around the world begin to loosen up, it seems like every other month another country legalises or takes steps to legalise cannabis.
With this new industry there’s a great use case for blockchain to help provide supply chain security for both the authorities and users of medical cannabis. Parsl is currently working on supply chain solutions which are efficient, transparent and safe for all parties involved. They have shown themselves to be extremely professional and knowledgeable when it comes to blockchain and supply chain technology, one look at their website/whitepaper and you’ll see what I mean.

GeneOS were the winners of the $500,000.00 USD grand prize at the 2018 Block.one EOS Global Hackathon for a reason. One of the reasons was Albert Chen’s amazing pitch, I think I’ll let him do the talking…
Where to from here?
So in 2018 we smashed every dapp usage record in existence after only 6 months of the EOS blockchain going live. I won’t even bother to list the stats compared to Ethereum anymore because in my mind it’s no longer a competition.
And this is only the dapp development, we haven’t even gone into the multiple B1 EOSIO software upgrades, the Referendum tool which just went live, future upgrades like multi-threading, side chains and the long awaited B1 mobile hardware wallet/dapp store/exchange/steemit 2.0…
I for one can not wait to see how this year turns out, price increase or not it’s going to be one hell of a year for EOS!
